A Message From the CEO

A Message from the CEO

We are a very close family of staff and Members here at Trademark and in January, after a hard fought battle with angiosarcoma, we lost a long time employee and dear friend, Jennifer Gordon.

Jen joined Trademark in 2001 when she was just 21.  She began her career at Trademark, in our Augusta office, as a receptionist.  Many Members will remember seeing her at the front desk and behind the teller line.  Jen worked her way up through the organization, most recently being promoted to Executive Assistant, reporting to the EVP/CFO, Scott Seguin, and to me.  Jen was a staple of our organization.  She preferred to be in the background and that is where, behind the scenes, she kept everything running smoothly. Jen administered the Credit Union’s employee benefits, provided support to the executive team and had a tremendous historical knowledge of our business.  Jen’s quiet personality was not one of shyness but of a caring and considerate nature.  She provided an ear for listening, a kind spirit for compassion and gave you her undivided attention.  Her thoughtfulness and sincerity made every conversation special.   Jen’s positive impact on our organization was enormous and we all deeply feel her loss as a trusted coworker and friend.

In honor of Jen’s memory and in accordance with her love of gardening, we will be planting a garden at our Augusta office and dedicating it to her in the spring.

The Trademark Team also decided to support Jen’s love of animals and to further cancer research by raising funds this year for the Midcoast Humane Society, where she adopted her beloved dog, Copper, and to the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care.

Jen touched all of our hearts.  We will forever remember her as a kindhearted, gentle and trustworthy soul, who quietly supported each and every one of us daily.

A Poem for Jen – by Cindy Grasse

A gentle sole, a thoughtful heart

A lover of nature right from the start

Sweet and kind, patient and calm

A voice of reason without any alarm

The eye of an artist, the tone of a song

Her gentle ways brought us all along

Smart as a whip and strong as an ox

She sent our boss swimming in that dunk tank box

A garden we will plant to remember her when….

A garden we will plant to remember our Jen
