Trademark Helps Young Athletes Win

We were proud to sponsor the 4th annual South Portland Youth Triathlon on Sunday, June 25th. The event is held in honor of South Portland’s own, Nathan Savage, who was passionate about family exercise, promoting physical activity, and giving back to the community. The main goal of the event is to expose youth to the great sport of triathlons, encourage self-confidence and promote the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle. But most importantly, to have fun.

This year’s event had a whopping 51 athletes enter. Mother Nature took a break in doling out rain and blessed us all with sunshine from start to finish! The race began in the pool for a 75-meter swim, then it was a mad dash to the bikes to complete a 1.2-mile loop, then a .7-mile finish on foot, to end in the football field, with high fives from Crusher and South Portland’s Red Riot.

Participants received special shirts, medals, and other fun giveaways. The Trademark Team was prepared for rain and handed out umbrellas in the morning, which turned out to be the perfect tool for getting some shade – it was like we planned it all along!

We’d like to give a special thank you to the City of South Portland for putting this event together, and all the volunteers who helped make it safe and special.

We look forward to next year!
