On the crisp, fall afternoon of October 8th, the South Portland Fire Department opened its doors to the local community for an eagerly anticipated annual event. The air was abuzz with excitement as residents of all ages flocked to the station for a day filled with fun activities and invaluable insights into the daily operations of their local heroes.

One of the highlights of the day was the special guest appearance of “Slugger,” the beloved mascot of the Portland Sea Dogs. The event was a perfect family outing, with activities for children of all ages. Kids had a blast decorating pumpkins with Team Trademark and getting into the Halloween spirit with creative designs.

The South Portland Fire Department made sure that the Open House was not just fun but also educational. Attendees had the chance to engage in hands-on learning with their local heroes. From trying on real firefighter gear to exploring the fire trucks and equipment, visitors got a firsthand look at the critical work our first responders do every day.

As the event ended, the resounding sentiment among participants was one of eagerness for next year’s open house. With memories of Slugger’s adventurous ride, the vibrant pumpkin creations, and the invaluable lessons shared, the team at Trademark was thankful for the opportunity to come together and celebrate the dedicated service of the South Portland Fire Department.

We’ll see you next year!
