At Trademark, financial wellness is about more than products and services. It's...
At Trademark, financial wellness is about more than products and services. It’s about helping people build confidence and knowledge at every stage of life. This spring, our team had the opportunity to connect with students through financial education programs, career exploration events, and community partnerships.
Money Quest: Bringing Budgeting to Life
Through six Money Quest sessions at South Portland Middle School, seventh-grade students participated in a hands-on budgeting simulation that challenged them to manage real-world financial decisions. From housing and transportation to savings and insurance, students learned how everyday choices impact financial well-being and the importance of planning for the future.
Exploring Career Opportunities
Our team participated in Career Day events at South Portland Middle School and Monmouth Middle School, introducing students to careers in marketing, lending, operations, member service, and financial services. Through interactive discussions, students gained insight into workplace skills, career paths, and the many opportunities available within the credit union industry.
Understanding Credit Scores
At South Portland High School, we met with students to discuss credit scores, how they’re calculated, and why they matter. From financing a vehicle to renting an apartment, students learned how credit can impact many of life’s biggest decisions.
Partnering with Junior Achievement
In partnership with Junior Achievement of Maine, we worked with fifth-grade students at South Portland Middle School over five classroom sessions. Students explored entrepreneurship, product pricing, and the many ways people contribute to their communities through their time, talents, and resources.
Celebrating Community and Culture
We were also proud to participate in South Portland Middle School’s annual World Cultures Day for the third consecutive year. The event celebrates the many cultures represented within our community and encourages students to learn about and appreciate the traditions, experiences, and backgrounds of others.
Whether we’re teaching budgeting skills, discussing credit, exploring careers, or supporting community events, we’re proud to invest in the next generation and help students build skills that will serve them for years to come.
