We were proud to sponsor the 5th annual South Portland Youth Triathlon on Saturday, June 22nd. The event is held in honor of South Portland’s own Nathan Savage, who was passionate about family exercise, promoting physical activity, and giving back to the community. This year’s event was a testament to his legacy, bringing together young athletes and their families for a day of excitement and physical challenge.

The main goal of the event is to expose youth to the great sport of triathlons, encourage self-confidence, and promote the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle. But most importantly, it’s about having fun, and this year’s event certainly delivered on all fronts.

A record 61 athletes registered for the triathlon, with 60 showing up ready to race—an impressive turnout and the highest number of participants since the event’s inception. Despite a rainy start to the day, spirits remained high. We had to move the start time of the race back due to the weather, but fortunately, the rain stopped, and the kids were able to complete the race under clearer skies.

The participants demonstrated remarkable determination and enthusiasm, embodying the true spirit of the event. It was inspiring to see young athletes pushing themselves, cheering each other on, and celebrating their accomplishments.

As a special treat, we handed out Trademark kites to all the young athletes. It was a delight to see their faces light up as they received their kites, adding an extra element of joy to an already fantastic day.

We are honored to support an event that not only promotes physical activity and healthy living but also brings the community together in such a meaningful way. Thank you to all the participants, volunteers, and supporters who made this year’s South Portland Youth Triathlon a memorable success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
