Each year, the Griffin-Guerrette Charitable Giving Fund contributes $1,000 to a local non-profit organization, chosen through an application process, to support human service, social welfare, or charitable efforts in Kennebec County. Established in 2012, the fund honors Judith A. Griffin and Paul G. Guerrette for their nearly seventy years of combined service to Trademark Federal Credit Union and the Augusta community. Both Judy and Paul worked tirelessly to serve our Members and community, inspiring those around them.

This year, we are proud to award the Augusta Food Bank (AFB) as our recipient. The AFB provides a vital “supermarket-type” experience to those facing food insecurity, currently serving 75,000 meals to 2,500 individuals every month. Since 2020, food prices have risen dramatically, leading to an increased demand for the AFB’s services. In just four years, the amount of food distributed has doubled, from 600,000 lbs. to 1,200,000 lbs. The $1,000 donation will directly support the cost of purchased food to help meet this growing need.

We encourage local non-profits to apply for next year’s Griffin-Guerrette Charitable Giving Fund and continue the legacy of giving back to our community.
