We are thrilled to share our recent adventures at the Financial Fitness Fairs (FFF), where Jess and Aza have been spreading financial literacy like confetti!

Recently assigned to the KV FFF Chapter, Jess and Aza have been actively involved in empowering young minds to navigate the world of personal finance with confidence and savvy.

Their most recent escapades took them to Cony Middle and High School, where they had the pleasure of engaging with approximately 200 to 350 students across two lively sessions. Witnessing the enthusiasm of both 12th and 8th graders as they delved into the intricacies of budgeting was truly inspiring. Maranacook High School joined the ranks, amplifying the impact of the mission.

But the adventure didn’t end there! On April 30th, Jess and Aza geared up for another exhilarating session at Nokomis High School in Newport. Anticipating the participation of around 150 juniors, with Dexter High School adding to the excitement, they were ready to equip even more young minds with the tools for financial success.

For those unfamiliar with the FFF concept, let us provide a glimpse into the magic. Imagine a real-life simulation of adult financial responsibilities, tailored to the unique circumstances of each student. From housing to transportation, education to savings, participants navigate various booths, gathering insights and making budgetary decisions.

As volunteers, we relish the opportunity to guide students through this immersive experience, witnessing their growth firsthand. Teachers play an integral role, further enriching the learning environment with their expertise and support.

Of course, no FFF would be complete without the thrill of the money booth. The chance to win real money adds an extra layer of excitement, with students eagerly awaiting their moment of fortune. We’ve seen smiles light up faces as lucky winners pocketed amounts as high as $78 at Cony, a testament to the genuine engagement fostered by these events.

In essence, the Financial Fitness Fairs are more than just educational exercises; they’re celebrations of empowerment and opportunity. By instilling financial literacy at a young age, we’re sowing the seeds for a future generation of financially savvy individuals.
