Wendy and her foster dog, Layla, have had an exciting month filled with new experiences and plenty of adventures. Layla has settled perfectly into Wendy’s routine and seems to be thriving in her new environment.

One of the most notable events this month has been turtle egg-laying season around Wendy’s homestead. Layla had the opportunity to meet several painted turtles and a few snapping turtles. Initially curious, Layla quickly learned to keep her distance from the snapping turtles after a particularly memorable eye contact experience.

Layla has also proven to be an excellent wildlife detector. Thanks to her keen sense of smell, Wendy has observed more wildlife than ever before during their daily walks. They’ve encountered a fox, several deer (or possibly the same deer multiple times), turkeys, and the many chipmunks that seem to be abundant this year. Layla’s alertness has certainly added an extra layer of excitement to their walks.

On the health front, Layla appears to be tolerating her treatments well so far. Wendy is hopeful that Layla will continue on this path toward a clean bill of health.

Enjoy some of the pictures from Layla’s adventures this month! Her encounters with the turtles and other wildlife have made for some memorable moments. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for Layla’s continued health and happiness.
